Ka Chun Chong received his BSc degree in Statistics and PhD degree in Public Health from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care (SPHPC), Assistant Professor (by courtesy) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine in CUHK, and Associate Researcher (by courtesy) in Shenzhen Research Institute, CUHK. His research interests include biostatistics, infectious disease modeling, environmental epidemiology, and applied research of artificial intelligence. He has published more than 160 publications in peer-reviewed journals with an h-index of 24 (Scopus, May 2024). He was a principal/co-principal investigator for eight external competitive grants. He was awarded the Health and Medical Research Fund Research Fellowship in 2019, supporting training in health economics at Business School, Imperial College London, United Kingdom. He was appointed as the Statistical Advisor of Hong Kong Medical Journal in 2017. He also served as Senior Associate Editor of BMC Infectious Diseases (since 2023), Associate Editor of BMC Public Health (Biostatistics and Methods section) (since 2019), Academic Editor of PLOS ONE (since 2019), and PLOS Climate (since 2021).
