Dr. SYED ADNAN ALI SHAH

Dr. Syed Adnan Ali Shah is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. He was born on November 30, 1977, in Karachi, Pakistan. He received his B.Sc.(Hons) (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) degree from the Department of Chemistry, University of Karachi, Pakistan, in 1999--2000. He received his Ph.D. in Structural Organic Chemistry from the ICCBS, University of Karachi, Pakistan, in 2005. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Analytical and Radiochemistry, University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria. His field of expertise is structural organic chemistry, natural product chemistry, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, and spectroscopy. He has published 240 international publications in several fields of organic chemistry including two books and co-authored one book chapter with a cumulative impact factor of 430 and a total no. of citations of 1976. He has six US patent applications and four US patents granted in the area of natural product research. He has secured 15 research grants from public-sector organizations in Malaysia. He is also a reviewer of many international journals, including Drug Discovery Today, Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Bioorganic Chemistry, Future Medicinal Chemistry, and is also an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Current Nanomedicine.
