I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). I worked in the construction industry for several years managing various projects from inception and design through to tender, building and final hand-over before joining the academic world. I am currently an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of South Wales. I have published circa 50+ articles describing and documenting my research work in peer-reviewed international journals and refereed international conferences, with more in preparation, as well as submitting three technical research reports to bodies such as the Welsh Assembly Government. I am involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision. I am also involved in the development of policies and processes that support Teaching, Quality Assurance, Student Experience and Achievement. I am a member of numerous national and international technical committees, and a member of various Validation/Review panels as well as Examination Boards. My specialist teaching areas include Geotechnics and Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering Practice, Construction Management, Engineering Site Practice & Surveying, Advanced Civil Engineering Materials, Low Carbon Technologies & Sustainability, Construction Materials and Individual Dissertations.
