Colleen V. Manyumwa was born in the small town of Rusape in Zimbabwe in January 1993. She graduated from Midlands State University, Gweru, Zimbabwe, with a BSc in Biological Science. She carried on to do a Masters degree in Biochemistry at Rhodes University, South Africa and is currently pursuing a PhD in Bioinformatics at the same university. Her passion lies in the research area of structural biology, which she plans to continue pursuing after the completion of her doctoral studies. In her spare time, Colleen loves playing tennis, making art, playing musical instruments and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
