Szymon Głowacki was born in 1969 in Iłża, Poland. In 1994, he graduated with a Master's degree from the Department of Agricultural and Forestry Technology at SGGW, Warsaw, Poland. He also graduated from postgraduate studies in pedagogy at the Economic and Agricultural Department of WULS. He obtained a doctorate degree (in 2000) and a habilitated doctor ScD (in 2018), both in agricultural engineering. Since 1994, he has worked at the Department of Fundamentals of Engineering and Energy at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering as a research and teaching lecturer. He is the author and co-author of over 70 scientific papers and monographs. His interests are based in technology for drying agricultural produce, applications of computer technology in agricultural engineering, and processing biomass for energy purposes. He has organized and co-organized many scientific conferences, in some of which he acted as a member of scientific committees. He has acted as the Dean’s representative for contact with graduates and cooperation with the economy. Since 2015, he has been the president of the Warsaw branch of The Polish Agricultural Engineering Society. He has been awarded a total of 13 prizes, diplomas, and medals for his scientific and organizational activities.
