Takashi Eguchi is a Senior Assistant Professor with an MD, Ph.D., FCCP, and FACS in the Division of General Thoracic Surgery at Shinshu University in Japan. He completed a surgical residency and thoracic surgery fellowship program at Shinshu University Hospital and conducted thoracic oncology research in Dr. Adusumilli’s Lab at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York between 2014 and 2018. He received an ECFMG certificate in 2017 and completed the Advanced Thoracic Surgical Oncology Fellowship in the Thoracic Surgery Service, Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for the 2018/2019 academic year. Clinically, he provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary oncology care at the Shinshu University Hospital. He has developed expertise in robotic surgery for thoracic malignancies, particularly in robotic complex lung segmentectomy for early-stage lung cancer or pulmonary metastasis. His translational research focuses on the biology and management of lung cancer. Specifically, he explores the clinicopathological and molecular characteristics of spread through air spaces (STAS) in lung cancer. He also investigated perioperative risk assessment/management in patients with early-stage lung cancer.
