Voluntary pro-environmental behaviors in the workplace such as organizational citizenship behavior towards environment (OCBE) are pertinent for the organizations striving to become environmentally responsible entities. The significance of OCBE for green organizational initiatives has led scholars to strive for expanding its nomological network. Approaching from the theoretical angle of the social information processing approach, this quantitative, survey-based study theoretically links and empirically tests the impact of environmental transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior towards environment (OCBE) via mediating mechanism of perceived meaningful work. Data from a sample of 311 employees working in Pakistan’s hospitality sector were collected and analyzed to test the hypothesized relationships using structural equation modelling. Results indicated the indirect effect of perceived meaningful work on the relationship between environmental transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior towards environment. Implications of both theoretical and practical nature are laid out in the relevant sections of the paper.

This paper studies the optimal decisions on investment, consumption, and annuitization strategy of the retiree with an uncertain lifetime. The model introduced by Milevsky in 2007 is followed and obtain analytical solutions by using the substitution method to solve the Hamilton Jacobi Bellman equation. A numerical example is providing to show the effect of the pensioner’s decision model. Different with the current literature, this study analyzed the effect of variety model parameters on the optimal utility and found that the individual’s optimal utility depends on the initial wealth, investment volatility and time of death after retirement. This study also observes that investment volatility has a negative effect on the pensioner’s decision on optimal utility.

Social capital and financial empowerment create opportunities for women in social enterprises project that lead to socioeconomic wellbeing with perceived women’s efficacy (self-efficacy). With the strength of social capital that women entrepreneurs have, it is become easier for them to get financial accessibility. Whereas a strong efficacy enhances women’s accomplishment that contributes to the socioeconomic wellbeing. This study has employed a cross-sectional design and data from 157 women entrepreneurs in Peninsular Malaysia. This study indicated that social capital, financial capabilities and self-efficacy enhancement contributed to women empowerment to develop their socioeconomic wellbeing in social enterprise projects in Peninsular Malaysia. Given those important investments in social capital and financial empowerment, the government and private agencies should therefore focus on social enterprise development projects which are related to sustainable development goals.

Technological capabilities are important because they play crucial role to born global and successful internationalization of businesses in terms of their innovativeness, creation of business links, technological learning, and the attainment of international experience. This paper aims to enhance the understanding of high-tech born global companies in Malaysia by looking at the role of technological capabilities among high-tech born global companies’ early internationalization in Malaysia. Although the innovation and technological capabilities have been the subject of inquiry by prior studies, very little research however have been done into the role of technological capabilities. Multiple case analysis was used to explore the role of technological capabilities towards the early internationalization of high-tech born global companies in Malaysia. The results of the study show that all three technical capabilities: technical knowledge, supporting technological tools and technology partners have a positive influence on early internationalization in Malaysia. However, technical knowledge and technological tools seems more important for these companies in Malaysia to expand their businesses into the international market. This study contributes to the field in several ways. First, it provides empirical research on internationalization by looking at the early internationalization that have been used in Malaysia and secondly, the study provides a model that explains how technological capabilities are used under the resource-based view theoretical lens.

Despite having a great advantage of potential natural resources and cultural resources, the Kelantan small hotels industry is still perceived to have great potentials to be developed as par as other states in Malaysia. The small hotel industry performance is generally linked to the selection of strategy and innovation type they used. Therefore, this study aims to explore the current practice of strategies and innovations among small hotels in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. The data was collected through questionnaires and employed SmartPLS3 to analyze data. Findings of this study suggest that a cost leadership strategy and differentiation strategy are significantly relating to incremental and vitality of innovation. However, the blue ocean strategy is not found to be significantly related to innovation and the perceived performance of the small hotels. Besides, radical innovation is also found not mediating the relationship between the blue ocean strategy and perceived performance. In contrast, small but active incremental innovation relates to the productivity of the small’s hotel. The study contributes to the present pool of knowledge about the impact of competitive strategy that matches with the type of innovation practices that affect the performance of small hotel business in the country.

Sustainability is integral for organizations to manage environmental issues. Environmental awareness among stakeholders builds pressure on manufacturers to adopt green human resource management practices (GHRMPs), environmental management system (EMS), and foster organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCBE) to improve sustainable performance (SP). This study investigates the mediating effects of OCBE and EMS on the relationship between GHRMP and SP among ISO14001-certified manufacturing firms and SP. The quantitative design employed, and data of 227 respondents were analyzed via the SEM technique using AMOS 24™. Thus, findings revealed that GHRMP is positively related to SP, while OCBE and EMS partially mediated the relationship between GHRMP and SP among ISO14001-certified Malaysian manufacturing firms. This study makes novel academic and practical contributions to green HRM, organizational behavior, and sustainable performance. However, this study also has some limitations.
