Ranko Biondic has been vice-dean for finances at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Zagreb since 2020. From 1993 to 2006, he was employed at the Croatian Geological Survey, where he worked on a scientific project “Basic hydrogeological map of the Republic of Croatia”. In 2006, he started working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Zagreb. Since 2008, he has been the head of the International Relation Office at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, and from 2009 to 2011, he was vice-dean for Research and International Cooperation. In July 2011, he was elected into the scientific teaching title of associate professor. From 2011 to 2016, he was the head of the Department of Hydrotechnics at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering. He has been a member of the Technical Area Council of the University of Zagreb since 2009. From October 1, 2016, to September 30, 2020, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering and a member of the Senate of the University of Zagreb. In February 2017, he was elected into the scientific teaching title of a full professor. He is a member of the Scientific Council for Remote Sensing of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Croatian Geological Society, International Association of Hydrogeologists, International Association of Engineering Geology, and the Croatian Society for Water Protection.
