Sergio Rossi Heras is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Marine Sciences-LABOMAR, Federal University of Ceará, Av. da Abolição, 3207, Fortaleza, Brazil; and at DiSTeBA, University of Salento, Via Monteroni s/n, 73100 Lecce, Italy. He is a Biology and Scientific Director at Underwater Gardens International, C/Paris 207, Barcelona, Spain. Biologist (Universitat de Barcelona, 1993, degree, and 2002, PhD degree). He is a research scientist specializing in marine natural resources and biological oceanography. His primary focus is on global change indicators of stress in coastal benthic populations, marine invertebrate distribution, ecology and physiology, benthic-pelagic coupling processes, and marine wildlife conservation and restoration. Currently, he is a Professor at the Università del Salento (DiSTeBA-2016-now) and a Permanent Professor at the Universidade Federal do Ceará (Labomar-2019-now). He is the Scientific Director of the ocean regeneration private enterprise Underwater Gardens International, the Coordinator of the Horizon Europe project Ocean Citizen, and the Chair of the COST networking action MAF WORLD.
