Monica Lengoiboni
Since 2014, Monica has worked as an assistant professor in Land Policy and Management at the PGM-ITC of the University of Twente.. Monica holds an MSc degree in Geo-Information Science and a PhD in Land Administration from Wageningen University in 2003 and 2011. Before starting her PhD in 2000, Monica also did work with the Dutch Kadaster from 2005-2007 in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Her PhD research focused on the land rights of nomadic pastoralists. Currently, her research focuses on understanding the social-spatial-temporal influence of Innovative Approaches for Land Administration on tenure security. Monica has served as an Executive Secretary for the Eastern Africa Land Administration Network (EALAN), a platform where mainly academic collaborates share ideas, experiences and plans for improving land administration education/training and research in the Eastern Africa Region. Monica has been involved in various aspects of education – development, evaluation of curricula, course design and implementation. Monica co-advises many PhD Students on land tenure security, land tenure and food security, land rights for women, and innovative approaches for land tenure recordation – under the general umbrella of Fit for Purpose land administration
