Tsegaye Getahun was born in 1979 in Dessie (Kutaber), Ethiopia. He has got his B.Sc in Biology, 2003 and M.Sc in Applied Genetics, 2010 from the Department of Biology, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Mr. Tsegaye had both teaching and research experiences at Secondary school, Public Universities (University of Gondar and Addis Ababa University) and Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) for more than seventeen years. Currently, Mr. Tsegaye is a PhD candidate, a researcher and a lecturer at Institute of Biotechnology, Addis Ababa University since 2013. Mr. Tsegaye had 4 publications and more than 61 citations. He had keen interests in the areas of molecular plant breeding (Genomic assisted breeding, Genomic selection), molecular plant physiology, advanced quantitative and population genetics, plant biotechnology, systems in Biology (Omics), and molecular marker technology.
