Information

Carlos Bendicho received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from the University of Zaragoza (Spain), in 1983, 1984 and 1987, respectively. From 1988-1990, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Technical University of Delft (The Netherlands). Currently, he is a full-time professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Vigo University. He is the head of the research group ‘Environmental Analytical Chemistry and spectroscopy’ (http://qa2.webs.uvigo.es/en/) belonging to the marine research center at the Vigo University. His current research focuses on the analytical nanoscience and nanotechnology area, more specifically on the design of new nanosorbents for sample preparation and optical nanosensors for trace element analysis and speciation in food, environmental and biological samples in combination with atomic and molecular spectrometric techniques. He belongs to the directory of the European virtual institute for speciation analysis (EVISA) and the Spanish technical committee for physicochemical analysis of surfaces (AENOR/AENGET15/GT5). He is also a member of the Spanish Society for applied spectroscopy and the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry. He is author of about 200 scientific contributions, mostly indexed in JCR-SCI. He has supervised around 15 Ph.D. and 40 MSc. students. His Hirsch-index is 45 (Scopus).
