Daniel Durán-Sandoval is a Professor at Universidad de Las Américas, working in the fields of development economics, sustainable development, circular economy, and history and philosophy of economics. He obtained a PhD in Economics and Business from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain) with a thesis focusing on the implications of food losses and waste on food security and environment in the Chinese food supply chain. During his PhD, he was a visiting scholar at Peking University (PKU, China). He also obtained an MA in Economic Development and Public Policy from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain) and an MA in Philosophy of Science from University of Santiago de Chile (USACH, Chile).
