Abhijeet Bakre is a Researcher at the Exotic and Emerging Avian Viral Disease Research Unit, Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory, US National Poultry Research Center, Agricultural Research Service (USDA). He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Parasitology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, an M.Sc. in General Microbiology, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Zoology, and Microbiology from the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Before his current role, he was an Associate Research Scientist at the University of Georgia. His research interests include small RNAs and their role in a variety of biological processes specifically involved in infectious diseases. His research goal is to identify and develop tools for small RNA analysis in order to understand their role in disease pathology and their impact on cellular gene regulation.
