YING-YI HONG received a B.S.E.E. degree from Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan, in 1984, an M.S.E.E. degree from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, in 1986, and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1990. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education, China, he conducted research at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Washington, Seattle, from 1989 to 1990. He has been with CYCU since 1991. His areas of interest are power system analysis and AI applications. He received the Outstanding Professor of Electrical Engineering Award from the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering, Taiwan, in 2006. He was the Chair of the IEEE PES Taipei Chapter in 2001.
