the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), first at the
Dengue Branch in San Juan, Puerto Rico and then at the Division of
Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases in Fort Collins, Colorado. He gained his Master of Science at the University of California, Berkeley and Doctor of Philosophy at Ohio State University, in 1967 and 1970, respectively. He holds the membership in American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, American Society for Microbiology and Tissue Culture Association.
