This study seeks to investigate the effects of supply chain characteristics on e-procurement institutionalization in construction companies. Data was collected through the in-depth structured interviews with 47 managers from a sample of 31 construction firms in Vietnam. The technique of cluster analysis with the Ward algorithm, the silhouette coefficient, and the t-test were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that the supply chain characteristics in terms of the size, ownership type, and operating market of strategic partners were significantly associated with the level of e-procurement institutionalization in construction companies. Along with the findings, this study's results will be helpful to policy-makers in formulating supportive policies and actions to effectively improve the low status of e-procurement adoption as well as accelerate the diffusion of the technology in the industry.

This study seeks to better understand the determinants of green building technology (GBT) adoption intention of construction developers in developing countries. In order to address these objectives, this study integrates the Diffusion of Innovation theory, the theory of Resource-based View, and the Resource Dependence Theory to analyze and construct the theoretical model of developers’ intentions to adopt GBTs from three perspectives, namely, technological, organizational, and environmental. The model was tested using survey data collected from 142 experienced managers in Vietnam. Data analysis was performed by SEM using the partial least squares (PLS) approach. The findings show that perceived GBT advantages, perceived GBT disadvantages, top management leadership, government support, project partners’ green building readiness, and social demand of green buildings are the significant factors that affect GBT adoption intention by developers. However, organizational GBT resource and GBT market readiness have no significant effect on developers’ GBT adoption intention. Theoretical and practical implications and limitations of the research are discussed, and suggestions for future research are also proposed.

The adoption of e-commerce technologies is an organization-learning process. Existing literature on the adoption has not been adequately addressed on this nature. This study develops a model and instrument to investigate the determinants of both initial adoption of e-commerce and its sophisticated extent in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in less developed countries' context. A model is tested empirically by using the data collected in Saudi Arabia. Since the sophistication of e-commerce is essential to gain full benefits from the technology, it is important to understand well influential factors of a decision of sophisticated adoption. Therefore, this present study is a necessary contribution to the literature.

A growing volume of literature proclaims the benefits of e-commerce for construction organizations in developing countries. However, it is questionable on what are determinants of a successful implementation of e-commerce in such a context. Furthermore, lacking a model or a method through which to discuss and assist for construction companies in improving their success rate of the implementation. This paper proposed such a method called the “integrated” e-commerce readiness method (IECR). In this method, the role of an organization’s perception of operating environment is highlighted, and e-readiness of an individual organization is considered as an integrated power of the internal and external resources.

This paper used the Balassa Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) Index and the Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient (rs) to analyze the situation of competition and complementariness in the textile and apparel (T&A) industry between Bangladesh and China in inter-national trade. Data of eleven key prod-ucts of the industry in 2000-2009 was analyzed. The study explored that in six of those eleven products competition ex-ists and in five remaining products complementariness exists between Bangladesh and China in global market. Consequently, several solutions were proposed to help improve the competitiveness of Bangladeshi T&A industry.

There have been some popular research objectives by scholars on e-procurement as to find causes to explain why the rate and speed of adoption is frequently very slow or to find management solutions related to business process reengineering, human resource development and management, technology management, etc. Our present study was pursed to develop a theoretical impact-role-factor assessment model to assist assessment the importance of government, organization, and technology on a construction enterprises’ e-procurement implementation readiness level in developing countries. The model is built based on a Government-Organization-Technology framework and positing the process of an enterprise's readiness collection is dynamic; the readiness level is changed, increasingly or decreasingly, over time. The proposed model consists of ten the constructs with eleven the hypothesized influential relationships. The conceptual model must be tested empirically in further researches
