Liyun Yang received her Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003 and has been working at USTB since then. She was appointed a professor in 2022. From 2017 to 2018, she was a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nito Tohoku University. In 2006, she studied at La Trobe University in Australia.
