I am a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Winchester, and previously worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. I completed my PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Southampton. I have a research interest in student engagement and widening participation, and related to this, the experiences of young carers in schools. I also carry out research in cognitive psychology, related to attention and memory for faces. I have publications in Children and Society, International Journal of Developmental Psychology, Early Human Development, and more recently Psychology Teaching Review, Couple and Family Psychology: Research and Practice, and Psychopharmacology. I have a book chapter on Student Engagement in Higher Education in preparation for an edited volume.
