He received his bachelor's degree from the School of Geography and Remote Sensing Science of Beijing Normal University, his master's degree from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his doctorate from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests are image geodesy and disaster and facility monitoring.
