Dr. María Herranz-López belongs to the IDiBE of the UMH within the “Design and Development of Bioactive Molecules” research group, dedicated to the study of natural bioactive compounds in relation to various human pathologies, to understand the mechanism underlying their health effects. She received an education in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (2006, UCAM), Food Science and Technology (2008, UMH), and her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2014. She has acted as Guest Editor for different special issues on “Marine Drugs”, “Int. J. Mol. Sci.”, “Antioxidants”, and “Molecules” in the last five years. She has acted as a reviewer for more than 20 scientific journals. As evidenced by the publications (50 publications with 1552 citations, Q1 percentage: 70%), patents (three), and the projects and contracts in which she has participated, her multidisciplinary background in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology and food technology is broad and proven and includes collaborations at the national and international level. She currently works as an Assistant Professor at the Miguel Hernández University since 2015. She is accredited by ANECA as an “Ayudante Doctor” and “Contratado Doctor” since 2020. She is also Evaluator at the State Research Agency-AEI since 2021.
