Salwa finished her postgraduate studies in the UK, University of Leeds. Her major background is about nutritional epidimiology. She worked as an assistant professor at King Abdulaziz University and serve as a consultant in different governmental organisations like the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). Her research project over the last few years has been about assessing dietary intake at the population level using local and worldwide data. She participated in developing myfood24 – a UK online dietary recall tool. Recently, Salwa have been working on a joint project between King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and Royal College of Surgeons (Dublin) in enhancing the dietary intake of omega3 by using enriched chicken, which might play a role in improving nutrition insecurity and enhance accessibility and affordability.
