Ammatoa Kajang vernacular houses are buildings that have existed for a hundred years as residential house buildings. These traditional houses are unique in their use of bent piles. This research examines the strength of the structural system of Ammatoan vernacular houses based on said houses' ability to adapt to various environmental conditions and natural phenomena. This study seeks to enrich these studies by examining the specific structural strength of these buildings. In the face of modernization and extreme climate change, the continued existence of such traditional houses has been threatened. Disaster may strike at any time, and as such we must explore the structural strength of their structures to predict these buildings' ability to endure such events. This research applies an interpretative model to explore the structural system, using a load test to examine the houses' structural strength. Although such a model assumes that each building has the same pitch, each house has its own pitch. Therefore, the measurement results cannot be applied generally to describe the structural strength of every Ammatoan house. This research also notes that the pin joint system, material selection, and application of a grounded foundation are factors that promote these buildings' continued endurance and ability to withstand earthquakes.

The city of Makassar has the advantage of a charming beach tourism destination and is an icon of the city located in the Losari Beach Region or known as the CPI Region (Center point of Indonesia). Losari beach area has zoning areas consisting of tourist areas namely Losari Beach Pavilion, Fort Rotterdam, Shopping Center and Ole-ole Somba Opu, and Culinary Tourism Areas that are expected to attract tourists to visit. However, visitor / tourist movements are concentrated only on the Losari Beach Pavilion. Through the cognitive mapping analysis method, this study aims to identify the characteristics of movement patterns of tourists in the Losari Beach tourism area and the factors that influence the pattern of tourist movements. The pattern of tourist movements is obtained from the recapitulation of index cards based on tourist routes. The results of this study are that the tourist movement pattern is dominated by a single point pattern with the tourist destinations of Losari Beach Pavilion and the least movement patterns carried out by tourists is the Chaining Loop pattern which visits four tourist spots namely Losari Beach Pavilion, Culinary Center for street vendors, Makassar, Fort Rotterdam, and Makassar Ole-Ole shopping center, and factors that influence tourist movement patterns are the classification of tourist interest, operational time and classification based on the ease of tourist movements.

The employment of structural equation modeling (SEM) in research has taken an increasing attention in among researchers in built environment. There is a gap to understand the attributes, application, and importance of this approach in data analysis in built environment study. This paper intends to provide fundamental comprehension of SEM method in data analysis, unveiling attributes, employment and significance and bestow cases to assess associations amongst variables and constructs. The study uses some main literature to grasp the essence of SEM regarding with built environment research. The better acknowledgment of this analytical tool may assist the researcher in the built environment to analyze data under complex research questions and to test multivariate models in a single study.

In Indonesia, waste problem is one of major problem of the society in the city as part of their life dynamics. Based on Regional Medium Term Development Plan of South Sulawesi Province in 2013-2018, total volume and waste production from Makassar City, Maros, Gowa, and Takalar Regency estimates the garbage dump level 9,076.949 m3/person/day. Additionally, aim of this design is to present a recommendation on waste processing facility design that would accommodate waste processing process activity by incineration technology and supported by supporting activity such as place of education and research on waste, and the administration activity on waste processing facility. Implementation of incineration technology would reduce waste volume up to 90% followed by relative negative impact possibility. The result planning is in form of landscape layout that inspired from the observation analysis of satellite image line pattern of planning site and then created as a building site pattern. Consideration of building orientation conducted by wind analysis process and sun path by auto desk project Vasari software. The footprint designed by separate circulation system between waste management facility interest and the social visiting activity in order to minimize the croos and thus bring convenient to the building user. Building mass designed by inseparable connection series system, from the main building that located in the Northward, then connected to a centre visitor area lengthways, and walked to the waste processing area into the residue area in the Southward area.

Abstrak_ Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang memiliki banyak atlet balap berprestasi dalam taraf internasional. Keberadaan sirkuit balap sangat dibutuhkan para atlet untuk menunjang kegiatan dan mengasah kemampuan balap yang dimiliki. Namun, ketersediaan sirkuit yang sesuai dengan standar internasional di Indonesia masih sangat minim. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memberikan ide desain sirkuit balap mobil formula satu di Makassar dengan pendekatan arsitektur modern. Melalui metode eksplorasi desain yaitu metode penjabaran ide dan gagasan yang dirumuskan dalam bentuk gambar. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa tata massa bangunan dipilih sistem terpusat, dimana lintasan yang menjadi pusatnya. Sehingga bangunan disekitarnya berorientasi ke lintasan. Sistem sirkulasi dari dan menuju tapak dibagi menjadi dua dimana sirkulasi untuk pengunjung dipisah dengan sirkulasi untuk team balap. Jalur masuk dan keluar untuk pengunjung juga dipisah, dengan lebar masingmasing jalan 15 m. Sedangkan bentuk bangunan mengambil analogi bentuk dari mobil formula satu dan bentuk aerodinamika dari mobil formula satu. Aerodinamika adalah pergerakan udara ketika berinteraksi dengan benda padat. Dalam hal kendaraan, aerodinamika adalah kecepatan kendaraan dan hambatan udara ketika kendaraan itu melaju. Penerapan tema arsitektur modern pada bangunan dapat dilihat dari bidang-bidang kaca yang lebar, jenis material yang digunakan diekspos secara polos, dan dari bahan material yang digunakan.Kata kunci : Aerodinamika, Arsitektur Modern, Eksplorasi Desain, Sirkuit.­_ Indonesia is one of the countries that have many athletes of racing achievement in international level. The existence of a racing circuit is needed athletes to support activities and hone the ability of racing owned. However, the availability of circuits that comply with international standards in Indonesia is still very minimal. Therefore, this study provides the idea of the design of the formula one race circuit in Makassar with the approach of modern architecture. Through the method of exploration design is the method of elaboration of ideas and ideas formulated in the form of images. The results obtained in the form of building mass order selected centralized system, where the path to be the center. So the surrounding buildings oriented to the track. The circulation system from and to the tread is divided into two where the circulation for the visitor is separated by circulation for the racing team. Entrances and exits for visitors are also separated, each width by road 15 m. While the shape of the building takes the analogy of the form of the formula one car and the form of aerodynamics of the formula one car. Aerodynamics is the movement of air when interacting with solid objects. In terms of vehicles, aerodynamics is the speed of the vehicle and the air resistance when the vehicle is driving. The application of modern architectural themes in buildings can be seen from the wide glass fields, the type of material used is exposed innocently, and of the materials used. Abstrak—Pasar Tradisional selama ini kebanyak terkesan kumuh, kotor, semraut dan setrusnya yang merupakan stigma buruk yang dimilikinya. Pasar Tradisional Lelong yang berada di Kecamatan Mariso (Jl. Rajawali) yang sudah lama dan masih aktif sampai sekarang selalu dipadati oleh pengunjung sehingga mengakibatkan kemacetan di kawasan sekitar pasar terlebih lagi pada waktu-waktu akhir pekan. Ruang parkir kendaraan dan ornag-orang tumpah menjadi satu memenuhi jalanan di kawasan sekitar tapak, mereka harus berbagi berebut space yang sudah sangat kecil yang tidak dapat menampung keseluruhan pedagang yang berada di pasar tersebut sehingga badan jalan juga digunakan sebagai tempat parkir maupun ajang transaksi. Tujuan perancangan ini adalah menyusun suatu acuan perancangan yang dapat menjadi panduan dalam merancang pasar tradisional dengan penataan modern yang efektif dan efisien yang siap ditransformasikan dalam program perancangan fisik bangunan. Hasil dari laporan ini meninjau hal-hal yang spesifik dari bangunan, berupa syarat-syarat perencanaan yang meliputi konsep pengolahan tapak, bentuk bagunan, struktur bangunan, material bangunan, penataan ruang dalam dengan menganalisa permasalahan dan potensi yang ada pada pasar berdasarkan prinsip arsitektur modern.Kata kunci: Pasar Tradisional, Padat, Penataan Modern. -During the time traditional markets is empressed dirty, filthy, disorganized and so on, which has a bad stigma. Traditional Market Lelong in Mariso (Jl. Rajawali) is still exist and active longer with always crowded by the visitors that caused traffic jam around the market especially on the weekend. Vehicle parking spaces and people spilled into the streets at around site, they should share the very small space that can not accommodate the all traders are in the market so that the road is also used as a parking lot or transaction event. The purpose of this design is to develop a reference design that can be a guide in designing traditional markets and modern structuring effectiving and efficienting that are ready to be transformed into the physical design of the building program. The results of this report reviews the specifics of the building, such as the terms of the planning involved in processing concept site, shape buildings, building structure, building materials, the arrangement of inside space with analyzing the problems and the potential that exists in the market based on the principles of modern architecture.Keywords: Traditional Market, Crowded, Modern Design

Bugis vertically traditional house is generally divided into three parts: head, body and leg home. The third part has a function and a different philosophy but as one that in synergy. In the field of architectural, philosophy plays a decisive role in the spatial distribution of building space. Mainly in traditional buildings such as Saoraja Lapinceng in Barru which has a variety of philosophical and meaningful messages resulting from the interpretation of the community against natural phenomena and customs that developed in the area. But in the days of modernization, most people do not know the philosophy applied to Saoraja Lapinceng. Therefore, this descriptive study will identify various philosophies contained in each division of the spatial space vertically on Saoraja Lapinceng. Through analysis techniques diachronic reading is a search method traces the history and ideology prevailing in Barru, it is known that the Bugis Barru divide the space vertically into three parts, namely "rakkeang" or the top of the house serves as a place to stay occupant of women symbolizing the group elevated, "ale bola" or the middle part serves as a male occupant symbolize authority and in controler, and "awa bola" or bottom serves as a storage area residents working equipment symbolizes foot and driving.Keywords: Bugis, philosophy of space, vertical spatial space, traditional home
