Information

Giovanni Muciaccia is Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where he obtained both his MSc degree in Building Engineering and PhD degree in Structural Engineering. He teaches structural design and fastening technology, the latter in a specific course for structural engineers he promoted and initiated. His research interests mainly focus on experimental fracture mechanics of quasi-brittle materials, constitutive behavior and structural response of advanced cement-based materials and on experimental behavior and design of post-installed fastenings. He is member of several international committees dealing with both qualification of construction products and design as EOTA Expert Group Fixings, CEN TC250 (SC2, SC5, liaison officer SC2/SC5 and SC2/SC8), fib TG 2.5, 2.9, ACI 355, 408. Additionally, he chairs the Task Group “seismic design” in CEN TC250/SC2/WG2 and the Working Party 12 “seismic design” in fib TG 2.9.
