CheonWon Choi received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles, U.S.A., in 1986, 1988, and 1996, respectively. In 1996, he then joined IRI Computer Communications Corporation, U.S.A., to develop a network simulator. In 1997, he became a faculty member of Dankook University, Korea, where he is now a professor in the department of computer engineering. At Dankook University, he also served as the chief information officer from 2006 to 2008 and led a project to deploy the infrastructure for communication and computation at a new campus. Since 1999, he has worked as a volunteer at the IEEE. He participated in organizing numerous IEEE conferences and events, including VTC Spring 2003, ISIT 2009, TENCON 2018, TENSYMP 2021, and SYWL 2022. In 2021 and 2022, he also served as the Chair of the IEEE Seoul Section. Since 2008, he has been on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers, the first Korean society for electronics and electrical engineers, where he served as President in 2019. His research interests include medium access control and resource allocation in wireless networks, including wireless sensor networks, RFID networks, wireless MAN and LAN, wireless ad hoc networks, and the application of queueing theory and game theory. He is a senior member of IEEE and a life member of IEIE and KICS.
