Francisco José García-Peñalvo received his bachelor’s degree in computing from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and the University of Valladolid, Spain, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Salamanca. He was the Vice Chancellor of technological innovation at the University of Salamanca from 2007 and 2009. He is currently the Director of the Research Group in interaction and e-Learning, University of Salamanca. He has led and participated in over 50 research and innovation projects. He has published over 200 articles in international journals and conferences. His main research interests include e-Learning, computers and education, adaptive systems, web engineering, semantic web, and software reuse. He coordinates the Doctoral Program in education at the Society of Knowledge, University of Salamanca. He has been a Guest Editor of several special issues of international journals, including Online Information Review, Computers in Human Behaviour, and Interactive Learning Environments. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Education in the Knowledge Society journal and the Journal of Information Technology Research.
