Kujan (BDS, MDS, PhD, FRCPath) is the discipline lead in Oral Pathology at UWA
Dental School. He received his PhD from the University of Manchester and a
fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists (UK). He has advanced
experience in the field of oral pathology and oral oncology. He published many
highly cited publications on head and neck cancer, oral potentially malignant
disorders, epithelial dysplasia, and oral carcinogenesis, including the latest
2021 classification by the WHO Collaborating Group for Oral Cancer. He
co-authored the 2022 WHO Blue Book on Head and neck tumor classification. Dr.
Kujan leads the Oral and Maxillofacial Biology & Diseases Research Stream
at UWA Dental School. He is also an associate editor of the Journal of Oral
Pathology and Medicine, Frontiers in Oral Health (Oral Cancer Section). His
research expertise areas fall in the field of oral cancer screening, oral
potentially malignant disorders, biomarkers for the prediction and
prognostication of oral cancer and potentially malignant disorders, molecular
pathology of oral carcinogenesis, and chemopreventive approaches. Dr. Kujan was
