Byongchang Kang is a professor at the Semiosis Research Center of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. He is part of the HK ("Humanities Korea") program. Kang received his PhD from the Department of German Literature and Linguistics at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. His research interests include cognitive linguistics, the language–emotion interface, linguistic humor theory, semiotics, and Buddhism.
