Professor Sudha Warrier, Dean and Director, Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM), MAHE, Bangalore has been a stem cell biologist working in the field of regenerative medicine since 2006 in India, US and Australia, post-PhD. She was also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Curtin University Medical School, Western Australia. Her key areas of interest include regenerative strategies using mesenchymal and pluripotent stem cells for cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders, and drug development targeting cancer stem cells with a focus on the Wnt pathway. She is actively involved in mentoring students for research projects for PhD, M Tech, MPhil and Master’s programs in projects related to drug discovery, neurodegeneration, epigenetics of cardiac and endothelial regeneration from stem cells.
She is also a recipient of commercialization grants from BIRAC, DBT other than academic grants from ICMR and DBT-Stem Cell task force. She has been awarded the Certificate for Excellence in Healthcare Leadership from Curtin University Medical School, Western Australia. She has carried out active collaborations with Curtin University, Australia and the National University of Singapore, collaborated with scientists from Malaysia in grant proposals.
Dr Sudha Warrier obtained her PhD in 2002 from University of Madras, India in reproductive biology. She underwent postdoctoral training (2002-2004) in Duke University, North Carolina, and in the Medical College of Ohio.
