Professor Boussios specialized in Internal Medicine in Komotini, Greece (2007-2009). Subsequently, he trained in Medical Oncology at the Oncology Department of Ioannina University Hospital, Greece (2010-2013), where he gained experience in the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to solid tumors, working for Prof. Nicholas Pavlidis. Since April 2018, he has served as a consultant at the Department of Medical Oncology, Medway NHS Foundation Trust, Kent Oncology Centre, UK, and is the research lead of the CUP. He is actively involved in translational research in cancer and is the principal investigator in phase I-III studies. His research interests include the individualization of patient treatment and targeted therapies in gynecological cancers, CUP, urological cancers, new drug development, and cancer diagnosed in pregnancy. In October 2020, Professor Boussios received the title of Honorary Senior Lecturer from King's College London (School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences) and has been actively engaged in research and postgraduate teaching. Additionally, since November 2023, he has been honored with the designation of Visiting Professor within the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Social Care at Canterbury Christ Church University.He has co-authored over 111 PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed publications and holds a Scopus H-index score of 35, with more than 2,500 citations.
