Member of the Tor Vergata Guarantee Committee, body in charge of promoting gender equality and equal opportunities, fighting any form of violence and discrimination.
Graduated in Biological Science from the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
The most recent scientific activity deals with basic and applied ecology:
1. set up of descriptors to evaluate the conservation status of seagrass (biochemical markers and associated microbial communities);
2. ecological models of microbial colonization in ancient parchments;
3. development of a new household appliance, an 'eco-domestic' for the up-cycling of dishwasher wastewater by an ad hoc engineered microbial consortium to reduce water use and to produce zero-mile vegetables.
Teaching the Bachelor's Degree in ‘Biotechnology’ and the 5-year Master of Science Course in ‘Conservation and Restoration of Library Heritage’, and the PhD School in 'Evolutionary Biology and Ecology' at Tor Vergata.
