Yaser Hassan Dewir received his MSc from the College of Biotechnology, South China Agricultural University (SCAU) in 2001 under the supervision of Prof. Yu Rang Cai. In 2002, he joined Chungbuk National University (CBNU), Korea for PhD study. He received his PhD degree in 2005 under the supervision of Prof. Paek Kee Yoeup, then continued post-doctoral study until April 2006. During 2007–2009, he joined the School of Biological and Conservation Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa for post-doctoral study. He returned to his home country, Egypt, and worked as an associate professor until 2014. Currently, he is a Professor at the Plant Production Department, College of Food and Agriculture Sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. His main research interests are in plant tissue culture, plant physiology and biotechnology.
