Juyoung Kim (Professor, Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, Kangwon National University)
He received his Ph.D. in 1996 from Hanyang University, Republic
of Korea, and then worked at the School of Chemical Engineering at Cornell University, USA, as a postdoctoral fellow. Afterward, he started teaching in the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, Kangwon National University, as an associate professor in 1998. He was on the editorial board for the Journal of Industrial Engineering Chemistry from 2002 to 2004. His research is on the synthesis of amphiphilic urethane acrylates, which have been used in the preparation of amphiphilic polymer nanoparticles. These nanoparticles performed very interestingly as absorbents of hydrophobic toxic contaminants in water and soil. Currently, he is working on the development of organic-inorganic hybrid coatings which have many applications in the fabrication of OFETs and OLEDs.
