Claudio Borghi is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Bologna. He earned his medical degree at the University of Bologna, Department of Cardiology, and Department of Clinical Pharmacology. He is the Chief of the Department of Medicine of the Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi-Bologna, a past President of the
Italian Society of Hypertension, the head of the postgraduate medical school of emergency medicine, and the Scientific Coordinator of the Ph.D. program on health and technology of the University of Bologna. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the International Society of Hypertension, the European Society of Hypertension, the ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Therapeutics, and the writing committee for the ESC Guidelines.
