Daniela R. de Figueiredo is a researcher at the Department of Biology, University of Aveiro (Portugal). After a post graduation in Applied Ecology and a master degree in Molecular Microbiology, she concluded her PhD in Biology in 2010, followed by a post-doc on the Ecology of Cyanobacterial Blooms. She started under an ecotoxicological context and then integrated Molecular Biology into her research, trying to go further in intra-specific variations concerning bloom-forming Cyanobacteria. Simultaneously, over the past two decades, she has been also been involved in several Science Communication / Environmental Education / Citizen Science projects, which have further strengthened her interest for these areas. Presently, she tries to make the bridge between the Scientific Research and Science Communication.
