He holds a Master's degree in Medicine from the Fluminense Federal University (2000) and a PhD in Medical Sciences from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2007). He is a researcher and ad hoc advisor to CNPq. He is a Scientist of Our State (CNE) of FAPERJ, Coordinator of the Discipline of Pulmonology and Phthisiology at UERJ, Adjunct Professor of Pulmonology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UERJ, Professor at the Graduate Program in Medical Sciences at UERJ, Full Professor and Professor at the Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences and the Graduate Program in Local Development at UNISUAM, and Effective member of the Brazilian Society of Pulmonology and Phthisiology and the Society of Pneumology and Phthisiology of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He works especially in the following areas: Pulmonary Pathophysiology; Pulmonary rehabilitation; Physical reconditioning.
