António Mário Henriques Pereira has a first degree in Mechanical Engineering and MSc and a PhD degree in Sciences of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Coimbra. The PhD has focuses on Fatigue in Weldbonded Joints. Mário Pereira is Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and Member of the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development at the same Institute. He was Course Coordinator of several courses at the School of Technology and Management.
The previous and current scientific and/or professional activities are: From 1993 to 2004, Director of the Laboratórios de Ensaios da ABIMOTA (LEA) (6 Laboratorys); From 1996 to 2001, Invited Assistant of Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra; Since 2001, Associate Professor of School of Technology and Management – Polytechnic Institute of Leiria; He worked in the industry for several years as a Quality Management Systems and Industrial Management.
The present research interests are:
Additive manufacture / Direct Digital Manufacturing / 4D printing
CFRP and GFRP with long and short fibers
Multifunctional materials /smart materials / metamaterials
Fatigue of materials
Behaviour of welded and adhesive joints
Total quality management / LEAN and 6 Sigma
He is/was Member of the Scientific Committees of the several conferences.
