Dr. Leyre Pérez-Álvarez

Leyre Pérez-Álvarez graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of the Basque Country, where she also obtained her doctorate in 2007. In 2003, she began her career in the Department of Physical Chemistry of the University of the Basque Country, joining the Group of Macromolecular Chemistry Research. Since 2012, she has been an associate professor at the University of the Basque Country. In 2015, her research was partially assigned to BCMaterials, Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, where she has been working on polymer-based smart materials for biomedical applications. She has 77 publications with 1797 citations and an h-index of 25 (Scopus, 5 December 2023).
