Hiep Vu is an Associate Professor at the Nebraska Center for Virology and the Department of Animal Science at UNL. He received his bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2005. He then pursued his graduate training at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL), where he earned his master’s degree in 2007 and PhD in 2013. His laboratory studies three major swine viruses: PRRSV, swine influenza virus, and African swine fever virus. The overarching goal of his research is to develop novel vaccines with improved safety and efficacy.
