Dr. Huitong Zhou received his PhD from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and his BAgrSc and MAgrSc from South China Agricultural University, China. He is currently a Principal Research Officer at Lincoln University, having been promoted from Research Officer to Senior Research Officer. He has been appointed as a Professor of the Fei Tian Scholar Program in Gansu Province and has held visiting professorships at Guizhou University and Gansu Agricultural University. Dr. Zhou's research primarily focuses on genetic variation in ruminants, particularly sheep, and its association with economically important traits. He has published over 200 refereed journal articles and serves as an associate editor or editorial board member for several scientific journals. He has a long-standing research collaboration with Chinese scientists and recently founded "The International Wool Research Institute". His work is valuable to the agricultural industry in terms of livestock genetic improvement.
