Since application of integrated energy systems (IESs) has formed a markedly increasing trend recently, selecting an appropriate integrated energy system construction scheme becomes essential to the energy supplier. This paper aims to develop a multi-criteria decision-making model for the evaluation and selection of an IES construction scheme equipped with smart energy management and control platform. Firstly, a comprehensive evaluation criteria system including economy, energy, environment, technology and service is established. The evaluation criteria system is divided into quantitative criteria denoted by interval numbers and qualitative criteria. Secondly, single-valued neutrosophic numbers are adopted to denote the qualitative criteria in the evaluation criteria system. Thirdly, in order to accommodate mixed data types consisting of both interval numbers and single-valued neutrosophic numbers, the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) method is extended into a three-stage technique by introducing a fusion coefficient μ. Then, a real case in China is evaluated through applying the proposed method. Furthermore, a comprehensive discussion is made to analyze the evaluation result and verify the reliability and stability of the method. In short, this study provides a useful tool for the energy supplier to evaluate and select a preferred IES construction scheme.

In the transition from a planned economy to a market economy of power sector reform in China, generation rights trading (GRT) as a mainly method to solve the problem of renewable energy curtailment. GRT presents significant differences from other countries' electricity derivatives such as electricity swap in subject matter, pricing mechanisms, etc. Electricity swap has been analyzed in many research work but few studies have been published on China's GRT policy system, our work can offer a new perspective to show traits and policy characteristics of GRT to fill this gap for other researchers. As a primary innovation point, this paper introduces the basic concept, development history, transaction mode, the policy system of GRT and the main differences between GRT and electricity swap in US electricity financial derivatives market are compared. Case analysis as research method is widely used in this paper, origin and components of transaction prices of GRT in Shanghai is investigated. This research shows that GRT is concentrated in regions which have rich natural resources or high demand of electricity and other energy of China and mainly dominated by the government, while GRT can improve the operating profits for renewable energy power plants and reduce renewable energy curtailment, many problems still exist such as unreasonable benefits distribution, lacking market adjustment mechanisms compare with electricity swap, and exorbitant price of coal compared with electricity price.

China has made some progress in controlling PM2.5 (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of ≤2.5 μm) pollution, but there are still some key areas that need further strengthening. Considering that excessive prevention and control efforts affect economic development, this paper combined an empirical orthogonal function, a continuous wavelet transform, and a concentration-weighted trajectory method to study joint regional governance during key pollution periods to provide suggestions for the efficient control of PM2.5. The results from our panel of data of PM2.5 in China from 2016 to 2018 could be decomposed into two modes. In the first mode, the pollution center was in central Shaanxi Province, and the main eruption period was from November to January of the following year. As the center of this region, Xi’an should cooperate with the four cities in eastern Sichuan (Nanchong, Guangan, Bazhong, and Dazhou) to control PM2.5, since the eruption occurred in this area. Moreover, governance should last for at least two cycles, where one cycle is at least 23 days. The pollution center of the second mode was in the western part of Xinjiang. Therefore, after the prevention and control efforts during the first mode are completed, the regional city of Kashgar should continue to build a joint governance zone for PM2.5 along the Tianshan mountains in the east, focusing on prevention and control over two cycles (where one cycle is 28 days).

Faced with the deterioration of the environment and resource shortages, countries have turned their attention to renewable energy and have actively researched and applied renewable energy. At present, a large number of studies have shown that renewable energy can effectively improve the environment and control the reduction of resources. However, there are few studies on how renewable energy improves the environment through its influencing factors. Therefore, this paper mainly analyses the relationship between wind energy and carbon emissions in renewable energy and uses Chinese data as an example for the case analysis. Based on the model and test methods, this paper uses the 1990–2018 data from the China Energy Statistical Yearbook to study and analyse the correlation between wind energy and carbon emissions and finally gives suggestions for wind energy development based on environmental improvements.

China will impose both renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and emissions trading (ET) on the electricity industry, but the product competition in the retail market and the influence of the supply chain network structure has not been investigated. This paper studies policy effects by comparing equilibrium results under different supply chain network structures, and we use the concept of consumer environmental awareness to capture a product’s substitutability. Results indicate that: (1) Both increases in the permit price and the rise of the quota obligation reduces the aggregate profits of the supply chain, but the former rather than the latter increases the profits of the renewable power generating company; (2) the differential pricing improves the retailer’s flexibility in the charged price when confronting increases in the permit price and the quota obligation; (3) higher consumer environmental awareness makes the supply chain less profitable and increases the costs of ET suffered by the consumer; (4) the cooperation between the thermal power generating company and the retailer significantly increases the aggregated profits of the supply chain, although the cooperative profit is sensitive to environmental awareness. Moreover, the consumer suffers the highest costs that the retailer passes on them, and may prefer to feel that the emission cost and compliance cost are less affordable. In contrast, the cooperation between power generating companies removes the influence of environmental awareness, but the aggregated profits of the supply chain are smaller than in the decentralized decision scenario.
