Prof. Alessandro Pini is a Research Fellow at Department of
Experimental and Clinical Medicine Anatomy and Histology section, University of
Florence, Italy. He has extensive experience in studying the pathophysiological
mechanisms of tissue repair. He focused his attention on the interaction
between parenchymal and stromal cells during tissue repair events in a wide
range of disease models, ranging from myocardial and renal infarction to lung
fibrosis, proposing different compounds as potential pharmacological treatments
and the use of Mesenchymal Stem Cells. His Research Interests include Experimental
Pathology; Oncology; Anatomy; Histology and Forensic Medicine.
