Amélia M. Silva has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, is a Full Professor at the Department of Biology and Environment, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and is an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB). She is the head of the Cell Biology and Biochemistry (CITAB) group and is co-responsible for CITAB´s research line “Food Composition and Health Effects”. She collaborates with several research groups worldwide (e.g. Spain, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Poland, and the US), and has been acting as a reviewer for top journals in the areas of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmaceutics & Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Nanotechnology. She has been the Editor of several special issues at MDPI and is an Associate Editor in some Journals. She has 194 publications with 7097 citations and an h-index of 46 (Scopus, 8 December 2023).
