Information

Tandra Ghoshal studied Physics at Burdwan University, India and received a master degree in 2002. She was awarded the prestigious CSIR-NET fellowship to carry out doctoral research at the “Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science”, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She received her PhD in Material Science in 2009 for her work on the synthesis and characterization of functional metal and metal oxides in one dimensional nanoforms. She worked as a post-doctoral and senior postdoctoral researcher and research fellow for more than 8 years in University College Cork, Cork, Ireland. She acquired ‘Industry fellowship Programme’ grant and worked as a principal investigator. She is currently working as a research fellow in the School of chemistry and CRANN, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland. Her current research interests focus on the development of techniques to fabricate semiconductor, dielectrics and inorganic nanopatterns on substrate surface through block copolymer lithography for electronics, optical, sensing and biomedical applications. Also, developing tools and techniques by the detection and characterization of defects/impurities in pharmaceutical grade methyl-celluloses is of interest.
