Monica Marilena Miazzi graduated in plant breeding from the University of Padova and received her Ph.D. in plant protection from the University of Bari. She was a researcher at the National Research Council. Now she is a researcher at the Department of Soil, Plant, and Food Sciences, University of Bari, Italy. She specializes in the fields of plant genetic diversity, genotyping, and plant breeding.
