Dr. Paola Roncada is Professor of the Second Outer of Animal Infectious Diseases at the Department of Health Sciences. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Milan in 1995 and in Biochemistry from the University of Sassari in 2001. Her research interests include milk, both as a diagnostic fluid and as a nutraceutical. She has also developed lines of investigation into the proteomics of zoonotic microorganisms, including microbiota and metaproteomics, in topics ranging from animal health to food safety, including antimicrobial resistance. More recently, she has been involved in the immunoproteomics and bioinformatic prediction of immunoreactive epitopes in emerging zoonoses. From 2001 to 2018, she directed the Public Health Proteomics Unit of the Spallanzani Institute of Milan, in collaboration with the University of Milan. Since 2019 she has been President of the Italian Proteomics Association. She is also a member of the Human Proteome Organisation.
