Dae-Hyun Kim has been working in the department of mechanical and automotive engineering at Seoul National University of Science and Technology as a professor since September 2006. He is currently developing several optical fiber sensor systems for the monitoring of civil infra-structures and mechanical systems. His current research interests are optical sensor systems, NDE/NDT, structural health monitoring (SHM), composite materials, structural analysis, etc. He worked at the University of California Irvine as a post-doctoral researcher from October 2004 to August 2006. He received a B.S. and M.S. degree from department of aerospace engineering, Korea advanced institute of science and technology(KAIST), in 1997 and 1999 respectively; Ph. D degree from department of mechanical engineering, KAIST, in 2004.
