Armando Jorge Miranda de Sousa (PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering 2004, University of Porto - Faculty of Engineering) is an Associate Professor at the University of Porto - Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) and a senior researcher at the Centre for Intelligent and Industrial Systems (CRIIS) at the INESC TEC research centre. His research interests span robotics, perception, and higher education, with a current focus on robotic learning. He applies his knowledge to develop intelligent robots for agriculture, forestry, and the manipulation of flexible objects. He is "ING.PAED.IGIP" IGIP-certified. He received several honours, both in pedagogical and in the area of robotics. Dr. Sousa has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and holds a patent for a cork-stopper identification device. He has (co-)supervised more than 90 successful MScs and 4 PhDs whilst currently supervising 7 PhDs. He has contributed to projects such as "Hi-Rev", "IntelWheels 2" and "blockchain.pt".
