Dr. Konstantinos Bakogiannis is an engineer, musicologist, musician, and sound and music computing researcher. He holds a PhD and an M.Eng. from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an M.A. from the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He is classically trained in piano performance, classical music theory, and composition, specializing in tonal harmony and counterpoint. He has composed music for contemporary dance performances and served as a piano accompanist for ballet classes. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Department of Music Studies (NKUA) and a fixed-term Lecturer at the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema (NKUA). Previously, he was a research fellow at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (NKUA). His research interests span a diverse range of topics, including physical modeling of musical instruments, directivity of musical sources, 3D audio and immersive sound, interactive multimedia, and music for contemporary dance. Dr. Bakogiannis is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), the European Acoustics Association (EAA), and the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics.
