I have much interest in the protection and conservation of natural forests and their resources. This interest has guided me in my academic and professional pursuit. I obtained a Diploma certificate and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management. My master's degree was undertaking at the University of Bangor, United Kingdom. I am currently pursuing a PhD at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. My research area is in the application of Remote Sensing and GIS to forest resource monitoring. The specific areas include forest cover mapping, change detection, biomass and carbon stocks estimation, and tree species diversity analysis. I expect at my research output will contribute to scientific knowledge. I look forward to becoming a lecturer and contribute to the training of the next generation of scientist.
